This tool is a reflection of life's interdependent, cooperative, and reciprocal ways. Nothing in nature exists in isolation, and neither does this work. First and foremost, I offer my deepest reverence to the living world — my primary teacher and the source of all the wisdom contained here.
I acknowledge with humility and gratitude the Indigenous wisdom and Traditional Ecological Knowledge holders who have stewarded these understandings of kinship and reciprocity for millennia.
I am indebted to my mentors in this field: my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Dayna Baumeister, whose standards of excellence set a bar I feel honored to reach toward, and to Toby Herzlich, who planted a pole in the ground long before most could see what would grow beneath it.
