Public/Private Partnerships

An important strategy for building effective and efficient land administration systems is to engage the private sector in design and implementation once policy and direction have been set. This generates three important benefits: 1) an increase in efficiency and reduction in costs; 2) greater flexibility in adapting to changes in direction and technology; and 3) development of the local private sector. These benefits, in turn, depend on effective contract management, sound project management, and incremental design. Terradigm itself is such a partnership, and has been involved in the successful implementation of public/private collaboration in the development of land administration systems.
