Caribbean Workshop Training/Education for Resource Management & Property Studies

This seminar and workshop arose out of a perceived need for regional cooperation as it related to property systems and resource management. The focus of the workshop was to determine market needs for training and consulting services; professional development through continuing education and research activities; conferences, seminars, and publications; and exchange with colleagues, views and lessons learnt from experiences.
Through the presentations and subsequent dialogue a number needs or objectives were identified. These included:
- priority groups of persons with need for training, education and professional development in property systems and resource management;
- conditions, opportunities and constraints specific to: target groups and their availability to participate in training and education programs, in the light of geographic location, work responsibilities, family situation etc.;
- program flexibility;
- educational institutions or consortia of institutions best suited to achieve the needs of target groups to be trained;
- the priority needs for teaching and learning materials;
- future activities for the development of curricula and learning materials relevant to the Caribbean.
