Lebanon – Training of Department of Land Registration and Cadastre

: Dr. Sue Nichols of the Centre for Property Studies was subcontracted to provide educational models under the ICP COMAP-01 training program designed to provide support for Ministry Officials of the Directorate of Land Registration and Cadastre (DLRC) through both management and professional training. The training was provided jointly by CRC Sogema and Teranet International of Canada, and involved DLRC staff attending training seminars and study tours in Canada. It was directly financed by CIDA and Canadian partners.
CRC Sogema and Teranet International were contracted to carry out the COMPAC-01 project, which involves the development and implementation of a new integrated registry system (IRS) and the conversion of the existing paper based Title Registers to digital records. The project involved new computerized systems and databases being installed within all Registry Offices located within Lebanon over a four year period.
